My oldest started preschool this year and has been coming home with all kinds of art projects, and pages from practicing his handwriting skills. I am so proud of his work that I needed something to display everything on.
I wanted a magnet board. However, all the magnet boards I found that were available to buy were kind of pricey and looked too much like they belonged in an office.
Thankfully I came across a tutorial for a cute framed magnet board.
Mine is 2' x 3'
I went to Home Depot and found a piece of sheet metal for fairly cheap.
Hobby Lobby had all their frames on sale for 50% off, and lucky for me, the one I liked best was also the cheapest frame.
To make this you need:
1 - Piece of Sheet metal
1 - frame, without the glass
1- tube of 527 multi purpose glue as pictured below
something heavy to put on edged of metal & frame while waiting for glue to dry. (I used cans of food)
Directions:
1. wipe off sheet metal to remove and residue/dust
2. In a well ventilated area, apply 527 glue to inside of frame
3. place sheet metal onto the frame
4. place heavy items on the boarder of metal on frame. (I used canned food. Avoid putting heavy objects in the middle of the frame, since the metal will bend and pop up in areas off the frame where you are gluing.
5. Let dry.
*Optional: I used a hanging wire and D-Srap Framing hanger in back so I could hang it on the wall.
